ACTOR'S SLATES

As a guru of both video and still imaging, I'm able to offer a one-stop service for actors who are seeking a high-quality promotional package at a 'starving actor' price:

* 90-second video;

* Four pictures (two head shots, two full-length)...e-mailed, on CD-ROM, or 8X10" prints;

* Condensed edit of your commercials and/or other performances from DVD (up to ten items -- beyond that, we're getting into an expanded hourly rate); this is above & beyond the 90-second slate and appended to it.

What's it gonna cost?

What Do I Get?

Video: 30 minutes of studio time condensed into a minute-and-a-half (+/- 15 seconds) presentation, in a downloadable video file for web distribution (in the format of your choosing, no copy-guard or limit on the number of times you may duplicate or send it).

I use broadcast-grade Sony standard-definition (SD) video equipment. Why, when the rest of the world has gone to High Definition, am I still using SD? 'HD' simply offers more lines of resolution and a wider picture format, it's not indicative of the quality of the video itself. When seen on a computer screen (where the vast majority of actors' slates are viewed), there is very little difference, as perceived by the viewer. Additionally, SD consumes less bandwith, making files easier to store and send as well as permitting less compression (and therefore higher quality); and the wider aspect ratio of HD means having to deal with wasted space that distracts the viewer from the subject: you!

As we all know, good lighting is the key to looking your best. I was the Lighting Director of a TV station for many years, with experience in newscasts, dramatic productions, commercials, PSAs, and performances. You'll be in front of studio-grade Berkey-Colortran lights.

Stills: High-resolution (approx. 4500 X 3000 pixels), with basic editing. Advanced editing is available at an additional charge.
